This camp is designed to give students an understanding and awareness of the multiple techniques and processes used in photography. A diverse design curriculum will be covered, including traditional and contemporary techniques, beginning with the digital SLR.
Campers will work in the light studio and learn how to properly light with additive lighting. If you own a digital SLR camera, send it along with your student. It is not necessary, as we have more than enough equipment, but learning with equipment that the student will always have access to is a smart choice. Robots are everywhere, and knowing how they work is fun and important to a 21st century education and developing STEM literacy. Over the course of one week students will advance from the basics of what makes a robot with hands-on bristle-bot building to constructing and programming fully functional robots with minds of their own! This in-depth college essay-writing course provides rising seniors with time outside of the academic year to focus on their college essay and to receive personalized guidance and feedback while getting a jump-start on the process.
This optional course complements the lessons and exercises taught by Episcopal's College Counseling program during the academic-year. In this class, students will:. Essays will go through at least one round of professional review and editing. Limited space available, with a maximum of eight students to ensure that each student will get individualized attention for their essay drafts. Participants must be at least 15 years old for this classroom-hour and six-driving-hour-course presented by the Able Driving School.
The six hours of driving are arranged at the convenience of the student and parent, and will extend beyond the classroom hours, so please arrange that directly with Able Driving. Participants may take the driving skills test within that six hours of driving, and most insurance companies will honor it for a rate reduction.

The focus of this course is on the foundations of Christianity. The study of classical doctrines of historical Christianity is at the forefront of what students explore. Students examine the nature of the Holy Trinity and the understanding of the Incarnation.
The blueprint for this is based on the classical Creeds of Christianity. Students examine the depths of human brokenness and God's solution to the problem. Study of Scripture is incorporated throughout the course, with an emphasis on Covenant, Law, and the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Genesis, Exodus, and the Gospel of John. NEW this year: lunch will be served in the Buck Student Center and will be included in the cost of the course; students may continue to bring their own lunch.
Reading and trying to comprehend the Old Testament is a challenge for many readers. The events happened thousands of years ago in places that no longer exist or have radically changed. In this course, students explore the cultural beliefs and values of the Old Testament times to be able to better understand what is happening in the scripture. Students also discuss what was happening historically in the world that influenced the Biblical events.
Summer is a natural fit for the study of marine biology! This course is open to rising juniors and seniors; it may also be ideal for seniors who want extra time in the fall semester to work on college applications. Throughout the course, beginning with microscopic plankton and ending with the blue whale, Marine Biology emphasizes marine flora and fauna and how the two relate to one another.
Students perform numerous lab activities, including the observation of live and preserved specimens. Dissection and inquiry are integral parts of the lab experience. Students in summer Marine Biology can also take advantage of great and warm weather for outdoor field studies: the course culminates with a true field experience where students work at a field site collecting and analyzing data and determining the various species which inhabit these sites.
