Four London artists - Summer Bressette, Richard Gracious, Alexandra Kane, and Mark Uhre - have been commissioned to create multi-layered events that will take many forms — from concerts to art installations, from readings to new plays and more. Come and make art. Come and celebrate with us.

For a total of 16 evenings of special events, each artist will make use of the various spaces throughout the Grand, from the Auburn Developments Stage to the Drewlo Lounge, from the BMO London Proud Floor to the Spriet Stage and throughout the main lobby — no space is off-limits to their imagination.

A gorgeous new building with inspiring performers making art from top to bottom. I cannot wait to welcome you into our Grand Home for this musical event as we celebrate this magical time of the year. Following three preview performances in March of , the production was halted immediately before its official opening night.

But for Ma the time has come to escape and face their biggest challenge to date: the world outside Room. I can tell you from direct experience this is one incredibly powerful night in the theatre. And now that we are finally able to proceed with opening night, from here I know it will go on to many stages around the world. And you can say you saw it first. Rubaboo is the Michif word for 'leftovers stew' or 'big pot' and a fitting title for this musical feast.

Arriving 22 years ago from Nova Scotia on a six-month contract, when the Grand was at risk of closing its doors due to financial debt, Deb Harvey has stewarded the Grand to 21 years of surplus. She has formed meaningful and impactful relationships with government and business leaders, staff, artists, volunteers and patrons. It will be difficult to replace Deb, her leadership, and her dedication to the theatre. We have a year to celebrate her, honour her legacy, and to give her the send-off she so richly deserves.

She has worked alongside eleven Board Presidents, three Artistic Directors, and six mayors! Deb will undoubtedly be remembered for her unwavering support of the hundreds of guest artists and talented staff she worked with over her tenure and how she rarely missed a volunteer circle meeting and the opportunity to greet patrons in person in the lobbies before performances. Some of those new voices need to be those of new leaders. This coming season we are opening post-COVID with a beautifully renovated theatre, with programming that will inspire and entertain us, and we will invite new audiences in through our doors.

We need to get back to business, tell new stories, share our new spaces, and welcome audiences back. And most importantly, together, we are planning for the bright future that lies ahead for the Grand. Sign Up. Website Designed By rtraction. Skip to main content. Google Tag Manager.
